Reviews and Recommendations for
The Rain is Coming, rain forest songs.

This CD and its accompanying lyric coloring book is excellent. Penelope Torribio's voice and music is joyous, vital, and  energizing, while the book illustrations by Suzanne Ross are beautifully realized and perfect visual companions to the songs.

The educational aspects of this musical for children are multifaceted. Besides the environmental and ecological insights there   are relational lessons here as well. Most of the songs have a great deal of humor and are celebratory and empowering such   as the inspiring "Guardians of the Earth".   I highly recommend this CD and book for children from toddler to teen.  Anna Pomaska, children's author and illustrator.

Dear Ms. Torribio,  I really enjoyed your songs and show.  Me and my friends think your voice is beautiful.  You were really nice for letting people go up and help.  I hope I can read your books.  I wonder how you can change a voice to another when you work with puppets.  You made my school and me have a lot of fun.  My mom loves the guitar too.  I play the violin with two of my friends.  Sincerely Xiomara Garcial,  El Amo Elementary, Long Beach Authors Festival, 2003.

This CD about the rainforest was useful in a thematic unit I was doing in a classroom.  As a primary teacher I am always looking for ways to tie in music with my lessons.  Thank you and keep up the good work! Tessa Childers
Making a Chain for Change frog animation

In Penelope's Torribio's 2007 musical puppet show, "Under the Blue Blue Sea," a girl--turned mermaid-- sings a song to a moray eel.  He is guarding the coral reef and threatens to bite her.  When she tells him she wants to help guard the reef he says, "We don't need you."  She says she doesn't agree and sings the delightful songs, "If you want to make a change, if you need to make a stand, then you've got to make a chain, you've got to reach out with your hand. "To listen to this song sung by the mermaid and the moray eel click on their picture below.
