"The Magic in You, Making Changes in Your Neighborhood, a fairy story" This is a long title for this short delightful story of a boy who finds a fairy has taken up residence in a trashed out vacant lots next door to his apartment building.  The tells him that she had wished for him, so he could help her clean up the vacant lot and he was none too happy about it. What happened surprised even the fairy.

Penelope Torribio, the author of "The Magic in You, Making Changes in the Neighborhood" met Verlena at an AHA!, Artist Helping Artist meeting, and the magic was immediate. Penelope knew that Verlena Johnson's artistic style, with her beautiful use of color and mixture of iconoclasmic and a modern feel to her painting, was perfect combination for this modern fairytale.    Verlena, a planet friendly artist, recognized "The Magic in You," as important story for our communities.  Watch for this collaboration coming soon.

Art helps to look at our world from different perspective, perspectives that we might not use on our own.
